For Emily,

June 20, 2008

It’s not exactly like this when I wake up…but I suppose it’s close.

Today I used Orange Pumice Hand Cleaner as shampoo, because I misplaced my little airline-sized bottle of explosive suave  Fine Hair Helper Suave. I expect to go bald at any minute.

That is all.

Baltimore Hardcore?

June 19, 2008

Alright. I need a job. DC…Baltimore… You’re up.
I am working hard to try and find one, because I am going a little mad in our new house. There is a slight twinge of Depression, but only because my art things and books have not arrived, and I don’t really know how to entertain myself with a blanket, a pillow, and two dog kennels. Hopefully that will change soon.

Initial thoughts: Baltimore is different that Seattle. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “DUH”, believe me I knew it would be different. It is a strange different. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I feel a little uncomfortable in my own house. It is not quite a home yet, partly because our things are not in it, but partly because it just well… it is empty. The coffee here sucks. I know, total Seattle Coffee Snob yadda yadda, I am not kidding. I have made brown water that has more kick after getting put through the same grounds 3 or 4 times.

I don’t want to complain too much. I am willing to give it a chance. I met some neighbors, James and Bob. They seem like nice guys. I hope to build a better relationship with them, you know, have a little neighborhood, rather than a bunch of people who just happen to live next to each other. Both own huge dogs that Samson tries to intimidate by doing his trademark SCREAMING BARK thing…I can’t imagine that is too popular at 2 AM.

I can’t wait until Vanessa joins us in the house. I miss her, even though I know exactly where she is.

It’s D+23, 379.

Don’t think I forgot about you History. I have just been busy. I know you have been busy too, what with you being made every day.

I love you History.

Dear Baltimore,

June 9, 2008

Thank you for the home.

Now, I would like a job.

I realize I only get three wishes from the City Genie,
so the last one would be to survive the move (and everything it entails).

Thank you.
